SATURN

-Apart from being one of the planets in our system, Saturn – which is the name of a car company in today’s world – was the Roman name for Cronus, who was the father of Zeus.

-Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest planet in the Solar System, after Jupiter. Saturn is named after the Roman god Saturn, equated to the Greek Cronus (the Titan father of Zeus), the Babylonian Ninurta and the Hindu Shani. Saturn's symbol represents the Roman god's sickle. In astronomy, the planet we now call Saturn because of Roman influence was called Khronos by the Greeks. It was the outermost planet god/deity, and was considered the seventh of the seven heavenly objects that are visible with the naked eye. Given that it had the longest observable repeatable period in the sky, which is currently around 30 years, it was thought to be the keeper of time, or Father Time, since no other objects had been seen or recorded to have a longer period. That is why it is often depicted as an elderly man with a long gray beard.Saturn has been known since prehistoric times. In ancient times, it was the most distant of the five known planets in the solar system (excluding Earth) and thus a major character in various mythologies.

Nike-we all have heard of the gigantic shoe and sportswear company hopefully, but did you know that the Nike is the Greek goddess of victory? It only makes sense to name a sports shoe company. after the goddess of victory.

-Nike was the goddess of victory in Greek mythology, depicted as having wings, hence her alternative name "Winged Goddess". She was the daughter of the Titan Pallas and the goddess Styx, sister of Kratos (power), Bia (Force) and Zelus (zeal).

Pandora-Pandora Jewelry – and more recently Pandora radio are just a few of many out there. Pandora was the first woman in Greek mythology and her name means “all gifted.” “Pandora’s box” is a box that contained all of the evils of the world, and when she opened it, all of the evils were released into the world and the only thing that remained inside of the box was hope.

-In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first human woman created by the gods, specifically by Hephaestus and Athena on the instructions of Zeus. As Hesiod related it, each god helped create her by giving her unique gifts.

Venus- Another name that got changed from Aphrodite once the Romans took over the Greek mythology.Today, Venus is a very popular and famous beauty product for women.

-In Roman mythology, Venus was the goddess of love, sex, beauty, and fertility. She was the Roman counterpart to the Greek Aphrodite. However, Roman Venus had many abilities beyond the Greek Aphrodite; she was a goddess of victory, fertility, and even prostitution.

Amazon-the web site that is at the time of this being written currently ranked as the 14th most visited site in the US in named after a race of warrior women.

-In Greek mythology, the Amazons were a tribe of women warriors. Apollonius Rhodius, at Argonautica, mentions that Amazons were the daughters of Ares and Harmonia. They were brutal and aggressive, and their main concern in life was war.

SLAM POETRY

Happiness

A man and a woman lie on a white bed.
it is morning. I think soon
they will waken. On the
bedside table is a vase of lilies;
sunlight pools in their throats. I watch him turn to her
as though to speak her name but silently, deep in her mouth
A the window ledge,
once,twice
a bird calls
And then she stirs her body
fills with his breath.
I open my eyes; you are watching me.
Almost over this room.
the sun is gliding.
Look at your face, you say,
holding your own close to me
to make a mirror.
how calm you are. And the burning wheel
passes gently over us.

Buwan ng wika 2k16

       Buwan ng Wika

Aug 26,2016

The word Barong is a coined word that comes from the Tagalog word "baro" meaning outfit. Similar to the Malaysian Baju which translates to Dress. The term "Barong Tagalog" literally means "Tagalog dress" in Tagalog. The term was originally used to describe what people, both men and women, typically wore in the Tagalog region during the Spanish era. In time, the term caught on with the shirt alone, and the other styles of dresses got their own names (e.g. maria clarabaro't saya, magsasaka, kamisa de chino, and terno). The term Barong Tagalog has been for so long been shortened by native Tagalog speakers into "Barong". Grammatically, Barong is not a word that can stand alone. It has a suffix "-ng" which implies that a word that an adjective, or a word that modifies it must directly follow. The root word of barong is "baro".

camisa de Chino (also spelled kamisa de tsino) is a collarless Chinese shirt worn under the barong Tagalog, the national costume of the Philippines for men. Spelling variations: camisachino, kamisa tsino, kamesatsino. See the entry on barong.

How to win a jingle competition

How to win a jingle competition

august 16,2016

A jingle competition is were every student must dance
in a competition. This is to show or express on how to have a healthy
           Lifestyle

How to win a jingle competition?Well,by practicing. Every level should think of being healthy and show to ACT. This kind of competition works by expressing healthy and helping each other through costumes and concepts . students must be active just like what we've done from the past years trying to reach the goal to be the first runner up.

We make jingle to cheer people and while learning how we treat ourselves to be healthy. Fruits and vegetables are like the one's with high vitamins which also means go,grow, glow on how we present the jingle competition.
